During her undergraduate studies, Dr. Shehan was passionate about understanding others’ experiences, and making a meaningful difference in their lives, which led her to study medicine. In facial plastic surgery, Dr. Shehan found the perfect intersection of form and function, as well as the artistry involved in reconstruction of the face. The face is a pathway for connection amongst us all, and she finds it to be a great privilege to care for patients in this way.
Education & Training
Dr. Jennifer Shehan’s academic journey began with studies in Biology and English Literature at the University of Notre Dame. She returned to her hometown to earn her medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, embarking on a path of specialized training. Dr. Shehan completed an intensive Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency at Boston University Medical Center, followed by a highly selective fellowship in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, Davis, where she focused on complex facial reconstruction, oculoplastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, and pediatric craniofacial care. Dr. Shehan’s commitment to excellence continued with advanced training in craniomaxillofacial surgery through the International AO Foundation, solidifying her expertise in intricate reconstructive techniques.
